I recently had the privilege of working with Kristin, who represented the buyer on one of my listings—and let me say, she was nothing short of amazing. If it weren’t for her relentless effort and selflessness, we simply would not have been able to close this deal. We had the property under contract for $318,000. The sellers had already completed all the repairs requested during the option period, but then the appraisal came back at $296,000. It put us in a very tough spot. The buyer, a VA buyer, didn’t have the funds to cover the difference or additional closing costs, and the sellers—after just spending a significant amount on repairs—had very little flexibility to lower the price or offer concessions. Kristin and I explored every possible option to make this work. In the end, Kristin voluntarily gave up her commission to close the deal—something she absolutely did not have to do. I even offered multiple times to split the difference with her, but she insisted on covering it entirely herself. In over 10 years of working in real estate, I have never seen another agent put their client’s needs so far above their own interests. Kristin literally worked for free to make this happen—not for recognition, but because she truly cares. That level of selflessness and professionalism is incredibly rare in this industry.
